Hi Everyone! It’s Me! Bug! I wanted to tell you about another one of my sleepover buddies! Meet Chorizo! Chorizo has a pretty sad story… He was picked up as a stray by Pinal County Animal Care and Control back in August 2018. That’s so long ago! I was only 3 months old!
Well, no one came in to claim him so he was just waiting to find a nice family to give him his forever home. But no one came. Chorizo waited and waited and waited. He spent more than half his life so far in the shelter. He had plenty of volunteers and staff there that gave him lots of love. He had several fosters and day fosters. Everyone always gave him great notes! But still, Chorizo didn’t find a home.
A few weeks ago when my human went to pick up Apple, Banana, and Sputnik for Cool Cats Rescue – Arizona, he met Chorizo for the first time. He was surprised that Chorizo was such a happy guy having been at the shelter for so long. I guess nothing gets this guy down. He was a little ball of happy energy.
Well, this time while he was picking up Norman, my human decided that he would go ahead and foster Chorizo. Of course, once Miss Shannon met Chorizo, she said that they had to bring him into the rescue. She also said that he iis one spicy sausage! Mmmmmmmmm. Sausages! They are almost as good as cheeseburgers!
That reminds me! I got to go to Starbucks a few times and had some yummy puppacinos! DEEEEEElicious! I especially like it when they put the little bone on top! AND…. I also got to go to In-N-Out Burger and had a scrumptious double double. Did you know that it’s like TWO cheeseburgers on one bun. I was in heaven. I’ve now convinced my human that he needs to take me to all the dog friendly restaurants that serve cheeseburgers so I can find the best one in Scottsdale! I’m sooooooo excited!!!
Oh yeah, but back to Chorizo… So Chorizo needs to go to the doctor. You see, he has this bump on his back. It started out pretty small, but it’s just keeps getting bigger. Now it’s like the size of a The people at the shelter think it’s a cyst and it gets full of some yucky liquid. He’s had it drained a few times, but it just keeps coming back, so Miss Shannon wants him to go to the doctor and have it removed.
Chorizo also has a skin condition. It’s caused him to lose some of his fur and he’s got some sort of rash all over. They did do some tests at the shelter and there’s no bugs or anything, so it might just be from stress. Hopefully, it will get better on its own now that he’s out of the shelter, but it’s better to have the doctor take a look just to be sure.
Of course, all this costs lots of money… so if anyone out there can help out and contribute to Chorizo’s medical costs, it would be sooooo appreciated! They need to raise about $700-850 for his care.

Chorizo will be at one of the upcoming adoption events. He won’t be ready to adopt until his medical is cleared, but he could go into a foster to adopt situation. He’s almost 2, he’s neutered, he’s super friendly with most dogs, and he’s crate trained. And most of all, he LOVES all people!
Chorizo still needs some work on his manners. He kind of jumps up a lot, but he’s not that big of a guy. He’s pretty good walking on a leash, and he knows sit and stay. He’s not completely housebroken yet, so he’d do best being crated while you’re out. He’s very treat motivated though (who isn’t, right?) so he’s pretty easy to work with.
If you’re interested in giving Chorizo a home of his own or getting more info on him, call or text my human at 602-456-2648. You can’t go wrong with this guy!
Thanks for listening!
