*** UPDATE: MICK WAS ADOPTED!!!! ***
Hey everyone! It’s me, Bug!
I wish I had better news and funny stories for you today, but it’s been kind of tough. I have too many friends that are winding up in the shelters and now they’re full. I remember when I was there, it got kind of full, too… but not like now.
The fuller it gets, the noisier it gets… and that’s just scary for us pups! A lot of them are lost and only want to find their way back to their families. Then, there’s others that have been living on the streets, some that were turned in by owners that couldn’t take care of them anymore, and even some that met some bad people that did mean things to them. I don’t understand how someone could be mean to a dog, do you?
I guess I’m really lucky that I never met any mean people so far. I mean, sure I was brought back to the shelter because I ate someone’s couch, but they still weren’t mean to me. And now looking back on it, I guess it was kind of silly of me, but really, I was just so scared then and when someone would leave me alone, I would just panic. Now, because of my sister and foster brother being so nice to me and my human taking such good care of me and helping me feel safe, I don’t want to eat couches anymore! They don’t taste very good, anyway. You know what would be great? A CHEESEBURGER the size of a couch! I would eat that for sure!
But anyway, now when my human goes out, sure i miss him. I can’t wait for him to come back! But Smith and Mr. Jeeves keep me company and I know for sure that my human is coming back soon and that this is my forever home! Dog’s like Mick aren’t so lucky, and that just makes me sad! Because when I think about it, that could have easily been me! After being returned twice, a lot of people don’t want to give you another chance…
But like I said, I got lucky. I hope someone takes a chance on Mick here! Even if you can’t be his human or foster, maybe there’s another one of my friends that you could help. You can donate to a rescue that works with the county or you can volunteer to help walk dogs and play with them and even take them out of fun trips to go hiking or to find a home. You can donate blankets and toys or food to the shelter. I have so many toys here it’s crazy, so I told my human that I don’t need so many and he can bring some of them down to the shelter! 🙂 Every little bit counts!
Please just take a minute to read about Mick and see if you have a little bit to give!
Talk to you soon!
Love,
Bug
