Thank you for adopting one of our fosters! Bug to the Rescue is focused on helping animals that are often overlooked by others. This includes e-listed dogs from our county shelters, and dogs dealing with behavioral issues, and other “less desirable” pets that may need a little extra TLC, time, patience, and understanding in their forever homes.

We are committed to transparency when it comes to the history of the animals in our care and strive to adopt out healthy animals. Unfortunately, due to incubation periods, stress from adoption events and being adopted, sometimes an animal can fall ill after it has been adopted out.

Many of our dogs have been treated for some type of upper respiratory infection when taken out of the shelter. Sometimes, these infections will resurface when animals are moved from foster homes to adoption events and then to new homes.

By selecting "I agree" I am indicating that I have read and agree to ALL of the following terms as the adopting party: While we do monitor our adoptable animals for current signs of illness, they are potentially exposed to a number of contagious diseases previous to being transferred from other rescues and facilities to Bug to the Rescue.

Some of these illnesses may include but are not limited to intestinal parasites, kennel cough, ringworm, upper respiratory, and parvovirus.

If you have other animals already in your home, PLEASE keep your new animal separated from your already existing animals for 14 days. Failure to do so can cause other animals in your home to become ill.

We strongly recommend that all your current animals be vaccinated prior to introducing a new animal to your home.

I understand that I must comply with the following adoption protocol:

  1. I understand that Bug to the Rescue cannot guarantee the health, temperament, or training of the above described animal, and I hereby release Bug to the Rescue from all liability once the animal is in my possession. I understand that I am solely responsible for any health care expenses.

  2. I understand that any animal could bite or hurt someone and once they are in my control, I am responsible.

  3. I agree to keep an identification tag attached to a properly fitted collar which will remain on the adopted pet at all times, whether inside or outside of the house, and to obtain all licenses required by local authorities.

  4. I agree to provide the adopted animal with the necessary vaccinations advised by my veterinarian. I understand that due to the sheltering environment these recommendations may be different than the protocols followed by Bug to the Rescue.

  5. If for any reason I cannot keep the adopted pet, I agree to notify B ug to the Rescue of the availability of the animal, and to return him or her to Bug to the Rescue upon request.

  6. Adoption fees are non-refundable. We will be happy to accept back any pet considered unacceptable (after a reasonable trial period) to the new adopter, and we will assist you in finding another pet that you may consider for adoption. Fees will not be refunded, however.

  7. Bug to the Rescue has my permission to use any photos taken of me and any family members during the adoption process on their website or any social media outlets.

I will agree to vaccinate my own animals against the following diseases before adopting:

Canines are immunized against Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, Hepatitis (4 in 1 booster); Bordetella (kennel cough); Rabies; and are free of parasites.

Additional Terms:

REMEDY FOR NON-COMPLIANCE: It is agreed that Bug to the Rescue retains superior title in said animal limited to and for the express purpose of assuring the animal’s well-being and will only exercise its superior claim in the event it appears to Bug to the Rescue that the proper and humane care as specified in the above adoption provisions is not being afforded to said animal, in which case the animal may be taken through a claim and delivery proceeding.
